Kindle Voyage vs Kobo Aura H2O
Looking to get a new eBook reader. Can't decided if I should go with the new Kindle or the new Kobo?
I will be mostly using my own book files that I can easily send to both devises. What do you think? |

No one has either at the moment, so it's going to be hard to answer your question.
But I've been thinking about this ever since the Kindle Voyage news broke this morning, and I say go for the Aura H2O. I would want the bigger screen over the sharper screen. Although the page turn thingies keep bringing my eyes back to the Voyage. I wonder how well they work? |

There's bound to be conflicting opinions once the user experiences start pouring in.
Cover all the bases and get both. Problem solved. |

I have a PW2 that I'm happy with and a Kobo Aura that I love for it's small size and weight. I plan to get the H20 and would love the Voyage too but I can't get over it being £29 dearer than the H20. I am happy to pay £140 for a larger screen, the waterproofing and the SD card option but more than that for basically a smaller PW with a sharper screen

At this stage its the kobo. It just offers a lot more than the new Kindle.

Waterproofing and a larger screen. I wish the new Kindle was waterproof.

Overall I prefer the Kobo firmware. But the 300 dpi and the size of the Voyage are very tempting. I do prefer a smaller device. Maybe I will get neither. Or wait for a sale. |

Has the horrible Kobo Desktop software improved in the last year or two? Do you still have to use this to load content to the device, or can you now just copy files via the USB link, as with most other devices? At one time it was pretty flaky, and had a habit of corrupting the Kobo's internal database.
